Welcome Message

Dear Parents,

Glen Mundy - Interim Head of School
Glen Mundy
It is with great pleasure that we introduce The World Academy to you and your families.  We warmly invite you to consider The World Academy for your children.  King Abdullah Economic City is a milestone in the development of lifestyle communities, and The World Academy is destined to be the model for 21st century education, thanks to the commitment of Emaar Economic City and GEMS Education to The World Academy as a flagship Smart School on the cutting edge of student learning.

The signature of our school is Education for Life. We believe all students can achieve and be leaders in their special areas of interest.  The World Academy celebrates the holistic vision for King Abdullah Economic City to be the single greatest enabler of social and economic growth for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  The World Academy is at the center of the KAEC community, providing families with a friendly, healthy environment and welcoming parents and students alike. To ensure access to our award winning international curriculum, we will have specialized services for students including:
  • The English Language Learner Program for students with little English proficiency,
  • The Achievement Center to support students with learning differences, and
  • The Talented and Gifted Program in association with Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Talented Youth.

The World Academy facilities are designed as a flagship Smart School with technology integrated across the curriculum and blended into school life.  Students have online learning opportunities to enhance classroom instruction.  State of the art facilities will connect The World Academy students to the wider world of education with activities designed to enhance the learning experience.

The World Academy is also unique in its curriculum design.  We have developed a program of best practice in international education enhanced by advantages traditional to the Saudi education system; segregated learning option from grades 6-12, Arabic Language, Islamic Studies and Civics.

In the spirit of inclusiveness, Emaar Economic City has initiated the first Scholarship Program for Founding Families in academics, the fine arts, music and athletics, in addition to targeting students with specific learning differences.   Scholarships are awarded annually and applications can be submitted through The World Academy Registrar.

We are delighted to invite you to join The World Academy community and to help us create fabulous memories in founding this world class school.

Yours in education,

Glen Mundy
Interim Head of School
